Some people read auras, I read spices.

A SPICE BLEND

Every culture uses herbs and spices.  Spices forge a powerful emotional connection.

They are a reminder of selflessness. You roast them, toast them, chop them, pound them, fry them in hot fat, and selflessly they give up their flavor, like Mother Nature’s unconditional love.

There is something very special in creating a spice blend! One is recognizing the characteristics of each spice , then matching and balancing it with others to birth the blend !

WHAT BLEND ARE YOU?

When I meet with people, we connect on a deeper level. Sometimes a certain spice will bring back a strong memory. One client rubbed a few fennel seeds in her palm and when she tasted them, she suddenly sobbed: The licorice aroma reminded her of her grandmother.

At each spice whispering session, an arrangement of 9 to 15 different spices are presented in a spice mandala. The person is encouraged to open, smell, and touch the contents of the various spice containers. After an hour or more of chatting I get a feel about the person and their connection to food. Within two weeks a special, individual blend is created and delivered.

THE COUPLE BLEND

Young couples, families, weddings inspire me, as it feels like the spices will grant blessings to new beginnings.

I spice whispered a young Jewish couple, who loved Indian food and wanted to share their passion with their wedding guests. A few session later, the blend was created which reflected their sweet and sparkly nature. The wife recently commented, “It’s three years later and our guests are still talking about that amazing spice blend.”

SPICE UP MEETINGS

Like a fingerprint, no two people are alike; each person has a specific combination of elemental energies that they need to respect in order to achieve balance.

The Mindful Spice Workshop is unique, educational and fun. It is a great way to break away from monotony and keep the team inspired. It helps create focus and concentration by providing employees a creative boost. At the end of the day every one needs to slow the mind so that one can recharge and renew their energy.

I have been a culinary instructor at the Le Cordon Bleu California Culinary Academy in San Francisco for over six years, teaching classes that were inspired around vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, sustainable and health conscious cuisine.

Being a certified yoga teacher helps me connect with people on a deeper level.

Honoring The Moment is the basis of my life, food and teaching philosophy.

NON PROFIT

I have had to opportunity to be the Manager and Lead Instructor of CHEFS, a program dedicated to fighting homelessness through employment in the food services industry.

In the 80's through the YMCA in San Francisco, I had an opportunity to help a food service training program which assisted refugees from different parts of the world like Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Ethiopia and Afghanistan to settle in the States.

HOSPITALITY

I have been involved with the food industry for more than three decades now. I grew up in India in an amazing family with a wonderful balance of the old traditions and the modern.

A graduate degree in catering technology and applied nutrition from The Institute of Hotel Management in Mumbai, India kicked off a deep interest in foods, nurturing and nourishing the body, mind and spirit.

My areas of culinary focus encompass Plant Based, Indian, Sustainable, Spiritual and Nutritional cuisines.

Spices, they resonate with me. They heal. They flavor. They whisper through food.
